Whats the best way to start writing online articles?

I’d like to start writing for a supplemental income. I’m not looking to become rich but I have seen a lot online about article writing. I have checked out helium and it looks interesting but all the marketplace articles needed are totally random.

I have a blog that I enjoy but my little adsense program doesn’t really make any money. Where should I start? Anyone have some good info. on this subject for me? Thanks!

Also, I do have a college education but no real experience writing. I don’t have samples either and my knowledge of this business is slim. Just so you know what your working with.
Thanks Trevor, I will have to check out that site.

You can buy out a website space at godaddy.com then make tags to it so when people search for topics you write about they can be directed to your site. It is a cheap way to get a website then you can have your blog on there and pictures, etc. Hope this helps!

I believe anyone can write articles for ehow.com. Every time someone clicks on your article, you get money. It’s pennies, of course, but it’s one way to build a publishing history and you can write about anything you want.

    Just a first step…

    Hi Rita,

You have a few options. You can write articles for other people and charge for them. You can write articles to drive traffic to affiliate links. You already have a blog so transitioning into affiliate marketing would not be a far stretch to earn a supplemental income.

If you want to write articles for others to make money you can join sites like Guru.com, eLance.com or any other freelance site and bid on projects. You can also join forums like WarriorForum.com and post article sets that you have developed for sale.

If you want to start in affiliate marketing, articles can drive a lot of traffic to your links.

You already have a blog. That will help in affiliate marketing. People like to buy from sources they know, like and trust. You have probably already built that relationship.. Not sure what your niche is but you can search for products to introduce to them at Clickbank.com.
