Many teenagers are at stage in their lives when they start getting interested in the opposite sex.when they experience love for the first time , they have feelings of excitement and euphoria .what is more a relationship with the opposite sex is novel experience for teens so they are tempted to embark on boy-girl relationships.

To nurture a relationship , couples need to spend time with each other .Often many teens lack the discipline to manage time .Thus they spend so much time in each other’s company that they may neglect their own studies.Hence , their academic performance may be badly affected .Furthermore many teens in relationships may not have enough time to sociallise this is important as social skills are essential life skills that need to be cultivated, besides sociallising helps to build a useful network of friends.

Frequently many teens are so affected by the quarrels that they are unable to focus on their school work .some teengers may even try to commit suicide like slashing their wrist .others may turn to bad company , drugs alcohol to escape relationship problems.this is because many teens are not mature enough to handle relationships they may be easily insecure and emotional.

In recent years , there has been a rise in teenage pregnancies and sexually transmitted disease .this shows that more teenagers are engaging in premarital sex.Teenagers , often in their throes of passion,they forget about the dire consequences of premarital sex .Firstly teens are not financially independant so they cannot support the family.Secondly they have to make drastic lifestyle changes to make drastic lifestyle changes to fufill family obligations.this may make them resentful as they are deprived of freedom to do things youths enjoy .moreover boys may face criminal charges for sex with a underage teen.Lastly girls are often ostracised by society. As a result they may slipped into depression or developed a low self-esteem.

Although there are many adversed effects of boy-girl relationships,teens may also benefit from a fufilling one.Teens may develop positive traits like sharing and being sensitive to others feelings.this may make themselves less egocentric they may learn to express unhappiness without hurting the other partys’ feelings.Furthermore they have a shoulder to cry on when problem rises .However this is true only if the teen is mature enough.Unfortunately many teens do not have this maternity
In conclusion , boy girl relationships is an advantage probably at the later stage in teens life.For now teens should spend time persuing of her interest or improve social skills
